Biography

Mikayla Shuster received a BFA with an emphasis in photography at Northern Illinois University in May 2022. She likes to experiment with different forms of photography, not letting herself be confined to one thing. However, most of her work revolves around mental health and the beauty and challenges of life. She began taking photos at a young age and has been in love with photography ever since. Her work has been included in several online galleries including Lenscratch, Alternative Processes, Analog Forever Magazine, Femme Salée, and Stay Coffee Gallery. She has also been included in a few in-person group exhibitions such as Gallery 215 in Dekalb Illinois, Jack Olson Gallery in Dekalb Illinois, RedLine Contemporary Art Center in Denver Colorado, and East Window Gallery in Boulder Colorado. Her work has also been included in publications including Color Tag Magazine: Volume 3, East Window: Shame Radiant, Lose the Film: # 3 Self, and Spire A Journal of the Arts: Volumes 43, 44, and 45.
